Hire the Village Hall:
Thurgarton Village Hall is a registered charity managed for the benefit of the local community by the Thurgarton Community Association Committee. We give priority to events and activities run by local community groups and to private bookings by residents of Thurgarton Parish. We also welcome a wide range of activities and events being run at our Hall by organisations, clubs and businesses from beyond the village that offer opportunities to local residents or provide additional income to support the upkeep of the Hall.
All requests for bookings should be made on the standard booking form and users are reminded that conditions of booking and limitations on usage are in force – all users are required to comply with our local Hirer Agreement and with the Entertainment Licence in force for the Hall issued by Newark & Sherwood District Council. Copies of these documents are available on this website or from the Booking Secretary. The Hirer Agreement and Licence are also displayed at the Hall.
Bookings are charged for by the hour. Users may request up to 15 minutes of setting up time, before the charge period starts. (contact Bookings Secretary). Activities proposed to take place in the Hall, as well as anything planned outside on the car park or grounds, including serving refreshments, any entertainment, or the use of specialist vehicles, should be included with your booking request.
The Hall has a maximum occupancy of 100 people. It has a well equipped kitchen, a full set of tables and chairs and is fully accessible, including a disabled access toilet and hearing loop.
Any bookings that include activities or timings that are beyond our current standard Licence Agreement must be cleared with the Booking Secretary before the Hirer applies for any necessary ‘one off’ licence variations or extensions from the District Council (eg a licence to sell alcohol, or to operate beyond standard hours etc).
