Thurgarton Annual Open Parish Meeting 28th May
Updates on the Village Hall, the Playground and Sustainability projects and the Platinum Jubilee event were provided.
Guest speakers David Yates and Gemma Carey provided insight into the Mammoth project and an update on the Red Lion respectively.
In the Open Forum it was suggested and agreed that the Parish Council should survey parishioners regarding what was important to them generally and how best to spend the precept accordingly.

Elections….Tina Tsoukatos was re-elected as Chair and David Lewis was re-elected as Vice Chair
Queen’s Platinum Jubilee….All parishioners were again invited to attend the Thurgarton Fete on Friday, 3rd June between midday and 6pm. This event has been arranged by the Thurgarton Community Association in conjunction with the Parish Council. There will be a series of events held at the cricket pitch to celebrate this momentous occasion including a Dog Show, a Rounders match, Children’s Garden on a Plate, a Cake Stall and a Tug-of War competition. All entries to the events are free, food from the BBQ and drinks from the Bar are the only items to be paid for, and proceeds from the Cake Stall and any other donations will go to the Ukrainian Appeal.
Village Spring Clean….was held on Saturday 21st May, thanks are sent to the volunteers that performed an excellent job as always.
First Aid…. a Basic Life Support course, arranged by the Parish Council, was held on Wednesday, 25th May. This free course was well attended and very well received by all.
Date of Next Meeting.… the next meeting of Thurgarton Parish Council will be on Thursday, 23rd June at 7:30pm, this will be a public meeting at the Village Hall.
