THE WI IS A MODERN VOICE FOR TODAY’S WOMAN

The WI offers a supportive and inclusive space to form friendships, learn new skills, and campaign on issues that are important to women. It endeavours to be as flexible as possible to meet the changing needs of women in the 21st century, and to make sure the WI has a place in all communities and in the lives of women whatever their age, background and circumstances.

Thurgarton WI was part of the village community for 77 years but in 2024 amalgamated with Hoveringham WI to form a larger group. It is part of Nottinghamshire WI which is part of 69 regional Federations. WIs and federations make up the National Federation.

At a WI meeting you are guaranteed a warm and friendly welcome. Meetings are held in Hoveringham Village Hall on Gonalston Lane, on the 1st Thursday of each month. Meetings start at 7.30pm and are relaxed and social events, where catching up with each other is a priority. New ladies are welcome to pop along on the night or contact us in advance for a chat.

A programme of speakers and activities is arranged each year in a wide variety of subjects to interest everyone.
