Despite the announcement that church buildings may open for public worship from 4th July, the 7 churches of the Benefice of West Trent will be waiting for better conditions before doing so.
The predominant concern is our ‘duty of care’ towards members of congregations, communities and leaders. In extensive discussions we have addressed our own set of 5 criteria for reopening. A helpful summary and conclusions for each criteria are to be found by following this link:

This is disappointing but the sensible and right decision. Preparations will be underway with a view to beginning to open up from September.

Weddings and funerals can now take place in church but with strict limitations in place.
